“Nothing so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task.” -William James

They got through with killing a man in Boise.
Keith Eugene Wells was injected lethally
for taking a bat to a couple in a bar having simply decided
“It was time for them to die.”
His was the first execution in Idaho for thirty-six years.

Do the style manuals of news organizations
have a rule which says people being legally killed
must have their names fully reported
as though for the lonely record?

I’m thinking about this because the wire service
also mentioned how it was Raymond Allen Snowden
who was hanged in October of 1957
the last person to be put to death in that state
before Mr. Wells felt his needle’s point.
