Three seemingly unconnected thoughts

1.

We envy and pity both
the animal who knows not of its death
(that it might be today or not
when the them of them will cease
and world will carry on
absorbing the space of their place within it).

2.

History for the individual is not a tide
context sees the tide, hindsight
but the individual breathes in moments
living in the muddle of themselves
bobbing perhaps, but unaware of water
direction, even temperature.

3.

The ability to hold a full cup of hot tea
as one walks from place to place
is a miracle of a certain kind
the physics and the fortune
not just to not spill it but to own it also
are wonders.
